Numerical control lathe is advanced processing equipment with high automation and complex structure, which has the characteristics of mechanical and electrical integration, intensive technology, and knowledge.

To give full play to the advantages of CNC lathes and reduce the occurrence of faults, routine maintenance is required. Therefore, the maintenance personnel of CNC lathes should not only have mechanical skills but also understand the daily maintenance of CNC lathes.

The importance of CNC lathe maintenance

CNC lathe is an advanced and highly automated processing equipment integrating electric power, computer technology, automatic control, automatic detection, precision machinery design, and manufacturing. It is technology-intensive and knowledge-intensive equipment with complex structure and high performance.

To obtain greater benefits and reduce errors or errors in the manufacturing process, it is necessary to carry out routine inspections and regular maintenance. In addition, whether the CNC lathe can achieve high machining accuracy, stable product quality, and improved productivity depends not only on the performance of the CNC lathe itself but also on the maintenance and protection of the CNC lathe.

For the daily maintenance of the CNC lathe, the CNC lathe operator shall carry out daily inspections and maintenance on the lathe every day.

  1. Check whether the oil quantity of each oil tank of the lubrication mechanism is normal, and then turn on the machine to check whether the lubrication system can operate normally.

  1. Turn on the machine and check whether the chip conveyor and pressure gauge values of each fan are normal.

  1. Check whether the amount of cutting fluid in the cooling tank is normal, and then start the machine to check whether the cutting fluid system can work normally.

  1. Verify whether the oil quantity of each oil tank of the hydraulic mechanism is normal, and then start the machine to check whether the hydraulic system can work normally.

  1. Clean the iron filings in the CNC lathe and the sundries on the guide rail, and check whether the surface is scratched.

First-level maintenance of CNC lathe

Please note that the first level maintenance of the CNC lathe should be carried out every three months, mainly by the operator and in cooperation with the maintenance personnel. Unless necessary, cut off the power supply before maintenance.

  1. Appearance: wipe the surface of the CNC lathe, including the cover, bed, and accessories, to ensure that there is no oil, rust, corrosion, scrap iron, and sundries and that the interior and exterior are clean.

  1. Tool holder and tailstock: clean the iron filings on the rotating tool holder and tailstock, clean the tool holder and adjust the clearance between tool holders. Clean all oil holes and felt pads. Remove and clean the tailstock, remove the burrs of the outer sleeve and taper hole, and keep the inner and outer surfaces clean.

  1. Headstock and spindle: check whether there are loose screws on the lathe and whether the oil tank, pipeline, and connection are stable. If so, please repair them in time. Check the spindle drive belt, X-axis drive belt, and z-axis drive belt for wear and tension. Check and adjust the clearance of the spindle.

  1. Lubrication and cooling: check the hydraulic system and its components (hydraulic pump, hydraulic motor). Check the chip removal system and its components. Clean the filter, cooling pump, and cooling tank. Ensure that the oil circuit is unblocked, and the oil hole, oil pipe, and felt are clean and free of iron filings. Check the lubrication system and replace the filter as required; Check all oil outlets. Check the oil quality and keep it in good condition. Check all oil tanks and coolant tanks, replenish them as required, and inject grease into each oil hole of the CNC lathe as required to ensure that the oil tank, oil stain, and oil window are bright.

  1. Electrical box: wipe the electrical box to ensure that the inside and outside are clean. Check whether the circuit is leaking, whether the contact is intact, and whether the grounding is safe and reliable.

  1. Movement: start the machine and check whether each axis and tool rest of the CNC lathe can rotate normally. Whether the movement of each axis and rotating tool holder of the CNC lathe is normal.
